DMK meet today to discuss arrest of leaders, alliance issues

CNN-IBN | Updated Oct 01, 2012 at 07:40am IST

New Delhi: The DMK executive is scheduled to hold an emergency meet in Chennai on Monday to discuss the arrest of some of its leaders and other alliance issues.

The meet takes place against the backdrop of the lookout notice against Karunanidhi's grandson DMK leader and union Minister Alagiri's son Durai Dayanidhi in an illegal granite mining case.

The meeting is to counter what it calls the AIADMK's political vendetta against its leaders ahead of the parliamentary polls. A number of DMK leaders have been booked in land grabbing cases after the AIADMK came to power last year in Tamil Nadu.
