Bangalore: The DNA report of the French diplomat, Pascal Mazurier, accused of raping his daughter was inconclusive. The Bangalore police said that it will need more clarifications.
The police have cited several contradictions in the DNA report and said the report was confusing. On the basis of the report, the Bangalore police said it was not 100 per cent clear whether Pascal's DNA matches the semen traces on his daughter's clothes. The report has now been sent back to the Forensic Science Laboratory.
Pascal Mazurier, Deputy Head of Chancery in the Consulate of France in Bangalore, was arrested on June 19 following a complaint by his wife Suja Jones Mazurier, a native of Kerala, alleging that he had raped their four-year-old daughter. The issue led to a public outrage before the diplomat was arrested.
A magisterial court on July 3 had extended by 14 days the judicial custody of Pascal.
His bail petition has been adjourned to July 9 by a fast track court after police filed objections to the plea.
