New Delhi: After the Euro, the next sporting event to look forward to would be the Beijing Olympics.
The countries might not be ready yet, the athletes might not be ready, the security too might not be ready. However, the security dogs sure are ready.
The Special task force seems to be all set for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and their training is also pretty much the same with endurance, strength and stamina being the motto.
"The working conditions for rescue dogs are very complicated. So we have many training programs for them, including some basic training, like teaching them to obey orders and improving their sense of smell,” says Captain Hu Zuofeng.
In fact since Beijing is going be thronging with people from all over the globe, their trainer is convinced that these dogs are also trained to become familiar with the smell of non-Asian people.
Beijing believes that it can deliver a secure Olympics using their own security forces, for a fraction of the $ 1.8 billion that Athens paid in 2004.
