New Delhi: Amid calls for Narendra Modi to be made the BJP's PM candidate, senior party leader Rajnath Singh has now asked BJP leaders to exercise restraint while making statements in public. The gag order comes days after Yashwant Sinha and Ram Jethmalani openly backed Modi as the party's PM candidate.
Meanwhile, Rajnath met Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday as part of consultations with top BJP leaders before the appointment of new office bearers.
Rajnath is also scheduled to meet Rajasthan BJP leader Vasundhara Raje. Sources said that Raje could be made the Rajasthan state BJP president to lead the party's campaign in the state elections later this year.
