Tehran: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday said that Western countries should keep away from Iran's domestic issues, the country's ISNA news agency reported.
"Definitely, you would not be placed inside Iranians' circle of friendship with such hasty comments. Thus, I recommend you to rectify your interventionist stances," said Ahmadinejad while referring to the reaction of US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the protests against the outcome of the June 12 presidential elections.
"The enemies are not aware that 70 million people of Iran are against interference of foreigners and arrogance," he added.
Iran is facing widespread demonstrations by the supporters of opposition presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Moussavi.
At least 10 people were killed on Sunday in clashes between Moussavi supporters and security forces.
Obama on Saturday called on Iran to halt repression of the protests and said the US supported the demonstrators who were exercising their universal right to free expression.
