New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Mukul Roy has said that sabotage cannot be ruled out in the Doon Express accident near Mahrawa station in Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh. A total of five bogies of the 18-coach Doon Express derailed killing at least five people and injuring 12 others.

The Railway Minister also ordered a high-level enquiry into the incident, terming the accident as unfortunate.

"Relief and rescue operations are on. I am also going to the accident site," said Roy, adding that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh would be given to the relatives of the deceased and Rs one lakh for the seriously injured.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also demanded a probe into the incident pointing that it happened on a day when a nation-wide bandh had been enforced by NDA and Left parties.

Meanwhile, Railways issued a statement saying that sleeper coaches S6, S7, S8 and SE jumped the track and tilted while S9 and two second-class bogies got derailed.
