New Delhi: The Dow Jones has rejected the third largest US media company News Corp's $5 billion takeover bid.
The Bancroft family which has a controlling stake of 50 per cent in the entity had rejected the bid.
Rupert Murdoch, chairman of News Corp, offered $60 per share for Dow Jones which owns Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones news wire and Barron's.
Reports suggest this bid has opened doors for other bidders like General Electric, owner of the financial news network CNBC, Washington Post, Gannett and even Google.
