New Delhi: A decision on Pakistan pacer Mohammed Asif's drugs case by the Dubai Attorney-General is expected on later on Monday.

On Sunday, the chief prosecutor had compiled his recommendations and forwarded them to the Attorney General.

Asif was detained at the Dubai airport on June 1 for possessing some contraband. Though the urine tests conducted on Asif have returned negative, sources have confirmed that the substance was a banned drug.

Asif would face a sentence of around four years in jail if convicted.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director of Human Resource and Administration Nadeem Akram, the court had heard the recommendations of the prosecutors who have forwarded the case to the Attorney General of Dubai.

"The chief prosecutor cross-examined the witnesses who were instrumental in finding the banned substance from the bowler. The court case will resume tomorrow," Akram said on Sunday.

Asif was returning to Lahore after playing in the Indian Premier League for the Delhi Daredevils via Dubai when he was detained.
