New Delhi: High drama ensued outside Ramlila Maidan where anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare is staging his protest against graft for the past 10 days on late Thursday night. A group of people, allegedly drunk, clashed with the police stationed there.
They were caught on camera trying to open the gates of the VIP entrance around 3 am. When policemen refused to let them in, they attacked the policemen with sticks and brought down barricades.
A platoon of CRPF personnel and four Police Control Room vans rushed to scene to control the situation.
One person was arrested and police are on the lookout for atleast 14 others. Two policemen including a sub-inspector were injured in the incident.
