New Delhi: A Delhi University student was shot dead outside her college in Dhaula Kuan on Tuesday. Radhika Tanwar, a resident of Naraina, was a second year Bachelor of Arts (BA) student of Ram Lal Anand College.
The girl was rushed to Safdarjung hospital after she was shot at on the Dhaula Kuan foot-over bridge, where she succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead.
Reports suggest that the killer was an acquaintance and was aware of her movements.
The police said that the motive was not to mug or rob the girl. They have suspected that the reason for the girl being shot at could be a relationship with the shooter that went wrong.
South Delhi DCP HGS Dhaliwal said, "There was no snatching incident. It seems that the girl knew the person who shot her."
