Dubai: With Dubai being the new hub for Indian art nowadays, art investors can double their trip to Dubai with some good investing options.
A gallery like 1 on 1 has the luxury of a grand space with the edge of international buyers in Dubai, all of whom are bitten by the Indian art bug. Currently on display are the works of T V Santosh, Riyas Komu, Sudarshan Shetty amongst others, with Bose Krishnamanchari as the curator for the exhibit
Having made a start with Indian masters 10 years ago, this gallery has come a long way in showing the best in contemporary Indian art today.
For buyers, the works shown here are not only cutting edge but often promise to appreciate in value.
"I didn’t quite know what I would see here. The vibrancy, complexity and the seriousness of the works are outstanding,” enthused art buyer Smita Prabhakar.
The gallery began when its owner Malini Gulrajani made short trips to India to buy art for herself; it soon became a business to run at break-neck pace.
"It has been a gradual change, momentum in speed in the last couple of years, with changes in Indian art market. You’re willing to take more risks after a while," said Gulrajani.
The current show is on till the end of April.
