DVD review: The Hangover for keeps

Rajeev MasandRajeev Masand, CNN-IBN

It’s here. The most enjoyable film of the year is now available on DVD. The Hangover, that Vegas comedy about a bachelor party gone wrong, comes as a single disc edition, but it does pack a few treats.

A 15-minute feature titled Map of Destruction is an enjoyable journey through key locations in the film where the core action unfolded. Like Ceasars Palace the hotel where our protagonists kick off their night of depravity, and the Casino at the Riviera where Alan and the boys recover the 80,000 bucks they needed to save their missing pal.

It’s really a chance to revisit the film and many of its best moments, with words of wisdom thrown in from the people involved.

That feature is followed by the Three Best Friends Song an extended scene from the film in which the three boys head to Mr Chow to return his money and collect their friend. The bit they cut off in the film abruptly is Alan's hilarious impromptu composition.

There’s also a roughly eight-minute gag-reel with outtakes from your favourite scenes in the film; a simple enough pleasure for all fans of the film.

If you’re male, out of your teens, and enjoy a good laugh every now and then, you have to have The Hangover in your DVD collection. This one’s for keeps.

Bonus Features:

Map of Destruction

Three Best Friends Song

Gag Reel
