Earthquake of 6.3 magnitude strikes Manipur

New Delhi: A strong earthquake hit along the Indo-Myanmar border on Friday evening. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The US Geological Survey reported a 6.4-magnitude temblor 50 miles (85 kilometres) from the Indian town of Imphal in the far eastern state of Manipur.

The region is remote and sparsely populated, more than 250 miles (400 kilometres) from the Myanmar city of Mandalay.
