Thane: Political advertisements certified by the Election Commission will be valid for broadcast on TV and radio across the country, the poll panel has said.
The EC, issuing an instruction to state election officers to this effect, said the parties need not obtain permission from each of the state election commission to air TV and radio advertisements if they have sought permission from the central office of the EC.
If the central office of any of the national or state level parties with headquarters in Delhi, seeks certification of same advertisement in multiple languages (Hindi/English and in other regional languages), the advertisement material in each of the language along with certified transcripts should be submitted to the committee in the office of the CEO, Delhi, a letter from EC said.
It stated that any advertisement certified for telecast/ broadcast by the committee in the office of the CEO, Delhi, on application from the central office of a party with headquarters in Delhi, will be valid for telecast/broadcast throughout India.
