PA Sangma's demand for re-scrutiny of Pranab Mukherjee's papers rejected

New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) has rejected Presidential nominee PA Sangma's demand for recheck of UPA candidate Pranab Mukherjee's nomination paper.

Sangma had sought EC's intervention for a fresh probe into his objections against Pranab's candidature that the former Finance Minister was still holding two more office of profit.

The Returning Officer had earlier dismissed Sangma's claims of Pranab holding the office of profit as the chairperson of the Kolkata-based Indian Statistical Institute (ISI).
