'Ek Tha Tiger' earns Rs 137.15 crore in 7 days

New Delhi: It seems Salman Khan's latest flick 'Ek Tha Tiger' is a really strong contender to beat the box office record of Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots'. As per trade analyst Komal Nahta tweets, "ETT Day 7: Final figure - Rs. 16.31 crore. Total for 7 days - Rs. 137.15 crore. Superb!!!!"

Taran Adarsh also has good words to say about 'Ek Tha Tiger'. he writes on micro blogging site Twitter, "#EkThaTiger - India *actuals* Tue 16.31 cr. Total: 137.15 cr nett. Excellent! All set to cross #Dabangg [147 cr] & #Bodyguard [148 cr]."

For 'Ek Tha Tiger', crossing the overall box office collection of 'Dabangg' and 'Bodyguard' seems just a matter of time, in fact, if the film continues to perform like this then it will surpass 'Dabangg' and 'Bodyguard' in next 24 hours.

Though 'Ek Tha Tiger' has broken many box office records, it doesn't entertain you like a Bond film. Have a look at some other unimpressive spy thrillers...
Ek Tha Tiger (2012): Probably Bollywood filmmakers don't understand the difference between a superhero and a RAW agent. Despite getting mixed reviews from the critics, the film earned Rs 120 crore in six days.
Agent Vinod (1977): 'Woh lomri ka dimaag rakhta hai aur sher ka jigar', there is no better way to describe the original 'Agent Vinod' Mahendra Sandhu. After all, he could jump from sixth floor and land exactly on his motorcycle, even Daniel Craig can't do this. Hairy Mahendra Sandhu with a paunch behaved more like a super hero.
Agent Vinod (2012): Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer 'Agent Vinod' was high on style, but had a weak plot. In the film, Agent Vinod travels from one country to another and faces a new villain in every country. With so many characters and unnecessary fight scenes, 'Agent Vinod' turned out to be a very complex film.
Mr Bond (1992): What an original title! Akshay Kumar played the lead role in the film. As he is the only capable officer in the entire police department, he is given the task to destroy Dragon's gang and rescue all the kids he has kidnapped.
Mukhbiir (2008): Remember Sameer Dattani? Yes, he also played a spy in a film. 'Mukhbiir' was released with a unique money-back offer to audiences. The film had a decent script, but with no big stars and a strange climax, it was destined to fail.
The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003): Probably, we are used to seeing Sunny Deol beating 50 men together or scaring villain with a hand pump. That is why it was tough to imagine him as a spy. Despite having some known names in the star cast, the film sank without a trace.
Surakshaa (1979): A group called Shiv Shakti Organization plans to spread terror in India. When the CBI chief gets information about this, he calls officer Gopi aka Gunmaster G-9 to take up the mission. Mithun Chakravorty plays Gunmaster G-9 in the film. And as the names suggest, there is nothing impressive about the film.
Bond 303 (1985): A spy who is equally good at shooting and dancing is difficult to find, and Jeetendra is the only one who can do this. The film seems like a combination of many other spy films.

It seems Salman Khan\'s latest flick \'Ek Tha Tiger\' is all set to beat the box office record of Aamir\'s \'3 Idiots\'.

'Ek Tha Tiger' has set a new record for the first day collection in Bollywood by earning approximately Rs 33 crore. Earlier, the record was held by Hrithik Roshan's 'Agneepath', which had garnered Rs 22 crore on the opening day.
