Click to play videoMumbai: Six years after Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea starrer Raaz, a sequel is finally making it's way to the screens.
CNN-IBN's Piya Hingorani caught up with the new cast and director of the sequel to find out more.
Raaz - The Mystery Continues will hit theatres this winter. Though the sequel comes minus its original hot pair of Bipasha and Dino, producer Mahesh Bhatt believes that it will still retain the supernatural flavour of the original.
Producer Mahesh Bhatt says, Raaz is brand that we created with heavy dividend. So having created this brand, we thought that we need to enlarge it and the horror genre is something that we intend to hold onto. And we will keep on inventing new narratives in this genre.”
Director Mohit Suri is willing to take all the blame if the film doesn't go down well with the audiences.
Suri says, “Horror is something that I felt, that if you mess a horror film up, its the director completely to blame. Understanding that I have taken the entire burden on myself and I've gone ahead with a film like that.”
The new Raaz will see actors Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut try and recreate the chemistry which between Dino and Bipasha had shared in the original one.
Actor Emraan Hashmi says, “As you can see for the first time in any film, I've spiked my hair up, removed my moustache and kept a French beard. It took a bit of thinking. Should I actually go ahead and make such a drastic change in this film? But the character demanded it. Its a dark character, a bit of a gothic character. Jewelry and all in the hand and stuff. So it was interesting, but ultimately its looking great on screen. Its looking like a very very intriguing character, very interesting character.
Raaz - The mystery Continues is scheduled to release on January 23.
