Mumbai: He is known as the 'serial kisser' of Bollywood. Emraan Hashmi, who is not bashful about his onscreen reputation, quite sees the lighter side of being cast opposite a witch in 'Ek Thi Daayan'.
"This was the only thing left for me to romance - a 'daayan'. This film fulfilled that also. Now all that is left is to romance mid-air," says Hashmi, one of the most consistently successful lead actors in Bollywood.
Critics agree that Emraan has matured as an actor with each film - and he himself describes his latest role as the 'most interesting' to date.

Police said Brahma was visiting the village of Santipur on the Bhutan border when he entered a woman's house and raped her at 2 am. In a sign that attitudes might be changing since the rape of a 23-year-old woman in New Delhi, who died of severe internal injuries, police have arrested Brahma.
In an embarrassment to the Congress ahead of the Panchayat elections in February, a case has been registered against the local party leader in the Bodoland area of Assam for allegedly raping a woman.
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Congress Committee chief convener Bikramsingh Brahma allegedly entered the woman's house forcefully at around 2 am and raped her.
It was only when the woman, a mother of two, cried out for help that the villagers reached and rescued her. They caught hold of Brahma and beat him up till the local police reached. The Congress has expelled Brahma from the party.
Police said they have taken the woman's statement and have registered a case against Brahma.
In a swift move, the ruling Congress expelled the local party leader in the Bodoland area of Assam who has been accused of raping a mother of two.
TV channels telecast footage of Bramha, who had contested the 2011 assembly elections from Sapaguri constituency in Baksa district, being slapped, kicked and caned by agitated men and women who ripped off his clothes.

"He is a flawed character, someone people can relate to. There is a dark side, but there is a fun side to him too," says Hashmi, whose serial kisser reputation was made largely in the 2004 Anurag Basu romantic thriller 'Murder' with Mallika Sherawat.
"When you catch the character in the film, he is obviously going through a particular haunting with the witch. I think it is one of the best, most interesting characters I have played," he adds.
'Ek Thi Daayan' is based on the short story by Mukul Sharma, whose daughter Konkona Sen plays one of the female leads along with Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi in the thriller.
The film is slated for an April 18 release and it is left for the audience to figure out which of these three is the witch.
