New Delhi: Hours before Suryanarayana's body was slated to reach India, a new controversy has cropped up back home.
A woman named Sapna, is claiming that she is Suryanarayana's second wife. She has a nine-month-old daughter, who she says is the slain engineer's child.
Sapna says she married Suryanarayana in 2002 in a temple so she has no documentary evidence except a few photographs.
However, DCP Hyderabad says that photos like these can be easily morphed. He says if she really wants claim then she should go in for a DNA test.
If the DNA test proves that the baby is actually Suryanarayana's, then the baby will get the same rights as his three children.
Despite this, Sapna will not get anything. Nonetheless, Sapna says that she wants nothing for herself and just wants that her daughter should get what is rightfully due to her.
"I don't want any compensation, I just want the same rights for my child as the other wife’s children have got," says Sapna.
Sapna says that Suryanarayana's family knows about the marriage, which was a love match.
However, Suryanarayana's family says that they do not know anything about her.
For the time being, Sapna is just trying to get permission to attend Suryanarayana's funeral, which will be held on Tuesday morning.
The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh has approved the sanction of financial support for the education of Suryanarayana's children.
The assistance will be provided from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
Meanwhile, a brief ceremony was held at Kabul International Airport for Suryanarayana, after which Indian soldiers carried the coffin of Suryanarayana onto an Air India jet that then took off on a scheduled flight for New Delhi.
A senior Afghan government official laid floral wreaths on the casket, which was draped in an Indian flag.
