Paris: One day before she plays for the singles title, Sara Errani teamed with Roberta Vinci on Friday to win the women's doubles crown at the French Open.
The Italians beat Russians Maria Kirilenko and Nadia Petrova 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to capture their first Grand Slam doubles title. Errani is the first player since Kim Clijsters in 2003 to reach the singles and doubles final at Roland Garros.
Errani and Vinci were runners-up at the Australian Open in January. They remain unbeaten on clay this season, winning 23 matches and titles in Acapulco, Barcelona, Madrid and Rome.

Italy's Sara Errani, right, and Roberta Vinci hold their cup after defeating Maria Kirileko and Nadia Petrova in the women's doubles final.
Mary Pierce of France in 2000 is the last woman to win both French Open titles.
Errani plays Maria Sharapova in the singles final on Saturday.
