London: Everton beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park with goals from Steven Pienaar, Marouane Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic before half-time, while two second-half goals secured three points for Wigan Athletic against Southampton.

Villa had Ciaran Clark sent off on 58 minutes before Karim El Ahmadi scored a consolation goal for the home side.

Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers drew 1-1 at Carrow Road in a fixture that saw the two teams, who got beaten 5-0 last weekend, take each other on. Simeon Jackson put Norwich ahead on 11 minutes but Bobby Zamora pulled his side level, converting the rebound from Djibril Cisse's saved penalty.
