New Delhi: Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh is the first to openly pitch for a Cabinet berth.
"I am ready to serve the people in whatever capacity. It is the prerogative of the Prime Minister to decide on his Council of Ministers," he said on Tuesday.
"I have been in Himachal long enough. I have been chief minister five times. Now I want to be in Delhi," he added, openly hinting at a Cabinet berth.
"I have lot of experience. My experience as chief minister gives me greater chance to serve people," he said adding, "The principle of giving portfolios to people on the basis of state strenghts, there can be an exception made in my case."
