Ex-Andhra CM’s son weds Telugu film legend’s daughter

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh and Telugu film star N Balakrishna's daughter Brahmani tied the at a low-key ceremony here.

Balakrishna is the son of Telugu cinema legend and TDP founder president late N T Rama Rao and also the brother-in-law of Naidu.

Political observers in Andhra say the nuptial has eased ties between Naidu and NTR family. A feud had begun between the two camps when Naidu led a revolt against his father-in-law and dislodged him from power in the 1995 political coup.

Among those who attended the low-key wedding were Tamil film legend Rajinikanth, film producer K Raghavendra Rao, Telugu star Nagarjuna and close relatives and friends of the family. The closely-guarded ceremony took place at the sprawling Hyderabad International Convention Centre grounds.

While very few leaders from Naidu’s political party were invited, none from other parties was invited.

Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandareswari - NTR's elder daughter - was among the close relatives who took active part in the ceremonies.

On political front, Purandareswari has been at loggerheads with Naidu and had recently shot off a letter to him asking him to desist from using NTR's legacy to further his political interests.

While Lokesh is pursuing an MBA at Stanford University in the United States, Brahmani is a final year engineering student in a city college.
