New Delhi: So what is the difference between a level 2.8 and a level 3 offence in the ICC's code of conduct.?
A Level 2.8 offense pertains to using language that is obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, umpire, referee, team official or spectator.
A Level 2.8 offense carries a fine of 50 to 100 per cent of match fee or a ban in one Test or two ODIs.
A Level 3.3 offence pertains to using language against a player, official or spectator that vilifies him on the basis of race, gender or ethnic origin.
This caries a ban of two to four Test matches or four to eight One Day matches.
