New Delhi: A fierce gun battle is on at a densely-populated residential area in Bantalab in Jammu. Police say a group of three to four terrorists, dressed in police uniform, were traveling in an auto rickshaw and entered the Chinore residential area in Bantalab.
They are believed to be from the same group that infiltrated from the International border at Kana Chak.
Caught in the crossfire are the residents of Chinore. Four children of Billuram, a resident, are being held hostage by the terrorists.
“The militants have entered my house. Four of my children and wife are inside. A boy from the neighbourhood may also be inside,” he told CNN-IBN.
The residents of Bantalab area are terrified.
“We got into our house when we heard the gun shots. Then Army moved us here. There are small children in that house,” said one resident.
