London: Fernando Torres spared Chelsea a humiliating elimination from the FA Cup on Sunday, scoring a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at third-tier Brentford to end his eight-match run without a goal.

The Spain striker curled in a superb finish in the 83rd minute to earn the European champions a fourth-round replay at Stamford Bridge and ensure they avoided becoming the latest Premier League failure in the world's oldest knockout football competition.

On Saturday, Norwich were humbled by non-league team Luton and Queens Park Rangers was eliminated by third-tier MK Dons. Chelsea, which were outplayed in the first half at Griffin Park, fell behind twice to their rival from west London, with Oscar grabbing the first equaliser in the 55th. Tottenham visit Leeds and Liverpool play third-tier Oldham later Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur were dumped out of the FA Cup in the fourth round beaten 2-1 by second-tier Leeds United. Tottenham, currently fourth in the Premier League, join Aston Villa, Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers in being eliminated from the tournament by lower-league opposition this weekend.

Three-time English champions Leeds took a 15th-minute lead when Luke Varney scampered down the inside-left channel before calmly beating goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
