Facebook activism takes off in India

New Delhi: On July 13, 2009, Professor HS Sabharwal murder accused walk free and the same evening a community on social networking site Facebook.com screamed for justice.

According to the website InsideFacebook.com, there are 3.2 million Facebook users in India - an audience that can quickly spread a message for cheap.

Campaigns for Saumya Vishwanathan, Nitish Katara, flood victims in Bihar and against the terror attacks in Mumbai have all made the headlines.
