Click to play videoNew Delhi: The Bandra Metropolitan Court in Mumbai on Wednesday granted one-month custody of actor Aamir Khan's brother Faisal Khan to their father Tahir Hussain.
The Mumbai court hearing the case has said that the judgment would have to be reaffirmed after a month.
Faisal will have to appear before a police station in Khar every second day. The court also said that there was no need for a mental examination.
Faisal was found to be suffering from schizophrenia despite his claims of being mentally stable. He was staying with Aamir but has now accused his star sibling of torturing and forcefully medicating him.
Faisal had made it clear that he wanted to stay with his father or go back to the hospital.
“Aamir is the naalayak (worthless) son of the family. He has forgotten his father’s sacrifices. I will knock on all doors and ensure justice is done,” Faisal told CNN-IBN.
Earlier, hospital sources had said though Faisal need not stay at the hospital, his custody should be given to a responsible member of the family as his insight and judgment continue to be impaired.
In fact, Aamir's father Tahir Hussain had also come out in the defence of Faisal. "I can very well take care of Faisal. Three years ago, Aamir got Faisal forcibly treated even when it was not required," Tahir had told CNN-IBN.
Aamir had wanted Faisal to stay with him but Faisal's lawyer had said his client would want to go back to the hospital if custody was given to Aamir.
Doctors have said that Faisal will need to make medical visits twice a month also warned that Faisal's "insight and judgment continue to be impaired."
“Faisal does not want to stay with his brother Aamir. He says Aamir forced him into medication and would rather like to stay in the hospital,” Faisal’s lawyer S A Vasid had said.
