New Delhi: The bodies of Indian officials killed in the suicide bomb attack at the Indian Embassy in Kabul was brought back to the country late on Monday night by a special in special Indian Air Force plane.

Family members of the victims accompanied the bodies.

The Father of Indian Foreign Service Officer VV Rao, V Aparicharilu, could not contain his emotions after getting the news of this son's tragic death

" We are not able to express any feeling. We feel like we are dead and these are living bodies. We will not send anyone there anymore," Aparicharilu said.

"Venkat was our classmate at JNU. He was one of the brightest students and always ready to help others, always there for everyone. He would remain awake whole night to help somebody," Rao's colleague and college friend Ameya Chanda said.

The United Nations Security Council as well as many countries also condemned the suicide attack at the Indian Embassy in Kabul that left 46 people dead.

Among those dead were four Indians including two senior officials - IFS officer Rao and Defence Attache RD Mehta. Two Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel - Ajai Pathania and Roop Singh - posted at the Embassy were also killed.

Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Jayant Prasad told CNN-IBN the Embassy had taken special security measures just a week ago following a tip off about the threat of an attack.

"We had a providential escape because the Embassy building would have completely collapsed had some of protective measures that we had introduced just last week had not been there because we had specific information that there was an increased danger. Just the impact of the explosion was so great and devastating outside the Embassy that 42 people died outside the Embassy plus four people that we lost at the Embassy. But there were no death or serious injuries inside the Embassy. No group has taken any responsibility so far. But local authorities have made some arrests," Prasad said.

The bodies of two ITBP jawans -Ajai Pathania and Roop Singh - killed in the blast would be cremated at Gurdaspur and Mandi on Tuesday.

"Today another boy of Gurdaspur has exhibited his bravery for the cause of the national pride and respect. We are proud of him," Ravinder Singh, cousin of Pathania, said.
