Family, fans give Dhoni hero's welcome in Ranchi

Ranchi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian team that won the Commonwealth Bank One-Day series in Australia was given a grand welcome on Friday in his hometown Ranchi.

His relatives told fans and electronic media that special arrangements have been made to greet Mahi, as Dhoni is fondly called.

"We have made special preparations to welcome Mahendra Singh Dhoni. First of all, we have come here to receive him. Since he is returning after a long time, meeting all family members will be a special occasion in itself. His mother will be preparing his favourite dishes," said Premchand Jeeval, Dhoni’s cousin.

At Ranchi Airport fans gathered outside to catch a glimpse of Indian Cricket skipper.

The win in Australia’s being related as among India's best one-day efforts.
