Mumbai: Farhan Akhtar is slated to pair with Vidya Balan in the sequel to the 2006 film 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' that had Rahul Bose and Mallika Sherawat in the leading roles.
This project marks Farhan's seventh film as an actor, but also the first time he'd be starring in a romantic comedy. 'Dil Chahta Hai' — which he wrote and directed more than a decade ago — was the closest he got to a romcom!
So, understandably, Farhan is pretty excited to experiment in a different genre. He says, "With this film, I am moving away from anything that I have been a part of earlier. I have never done a romantic comedy before. Besides, it’s a very funny script yet at the same time it’s a moving one.” Farhan also praised Saket Chaudhary and added that the debutante director has written an interesting script as well.
Given the buzz that the two make an unusual pair, Farhan is eagerly looking forward to collaborate with the actress. On being asked whether the chemistry between them will work as the film is based on the life of a married couple. “Well, that is for the audience to watch and decide, isn’t it?” poses Farhan.
