Farhan promotes cause to help special kids

Mumbai: Apart from singing, acting, directing and hosting television shows the versatile Farhan Akhtar also does his bit for a good cause. Farhan launched an innovative campaign to build a school for differently able children in Mumbai.

The actor filmmaker made an appearance to support Sadhna School's 'Brick By Brick' campaign on Saturday evening. This drive is to build additional floors of the school for differently able children - by sponsoring bricks which comes for Rs 5,000 apiece.

"The first thing I can do to help is to buy a number of bricks myself," said Farhan.

News is that Farhan has signed on to play the lead role in Sudhir Mishra's take on Devdas with Kareena Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh for company. But what's keeping the actor currently occupied is a thriller opposite Deepika Padukone.

"Karthik Calling Karthik is a psychological thriller. It is very different from the films I have been doing and I'm really enjoying myself. Deepika is amazing in the movie and I've had a great time shooting with her," he said.

With all attention now turned to the IPL in South Africa, Farhan too will be rooting for not a team but his favourite cricketer.

"I'm not supporting nay team in particular but I love Sachin. If he was playing in his building also I would be there to support him. So I really wish he comes back a winner," Farhan said.

Surely the Mumbai Indians will be hoping so too!
