World No 2 men's tennis player Rafael Nadal is in India to take part in the Chennai Open and wants to begin the year 2007 with a win. He spoke to CNN-IBN's Roma Khanna about his plans.
Roma Khanna: Welcome to CNN-IBN Rafael. A very happy new year. What are the things that you are going to be doing different this year though you had a fantastic 2006.
Rafael Nadal: Thank you very much and same for you. It was a very nice year and finally I finished No 2. I start 2007 here and I hope to play very good tennis.
Roma Khanna: Was losing the Wimbledon final a big disappointment for you or was it that you just had fun there.
Rafael Nadal: No not a big disappointment. Playing in the Wimbledon final is very nice for me. It was different. To play on grass is always very difficult for Spanish players so I am very happy to play in the Wimbledon final. I am always trying to improve in those sorts of places and I want to continue to play good tennis.
Roma Khanna: What is it like playing Roger Federer and then defeating him.
Rafael Nadal: When you play Roger Federer it is always a special and a difficult match. I beat him four times last year. He beat me too. But he is the best, probably one of the best in history.
Roma Khanna: How do deal with all the pressure on you? So many people adore you and cheer for you.
Rafael Nadal: I am not special. I am a normal person like everybody else. I am trying to do my job and working hard. I love the competition and you need something in life.
Roma Khanna: Thank you Rafael.
Rafael Nadal: Thank you.
