Filmfare (un)covers Bachchan men

Mumbai: A cover story that was waiting to be told.

Filmfare's special anniversary edition has put on its cover the picture of superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek to represent two generations of Bollywood.

The magazine focuses on the very best of the Hindi film industry, be it the actors, filmmakers or the films themselves.

And when it came to talking about the glossy's new look, Big B was all praise.

"The pulishing is extraordinary now. There is a lot of class and finesse in the photography and printing. It can easily be compared to a lot of modern magazines that come out in the West,” he said.

Abhishek too couldn't be more pleased. "My first picture in Filmfare was published in 2001 and that’s the time I debuted in the industry,” Abhishek says.

The cover picture is taken from the album of director Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, who also features among the best Bollywood directors in the magazine.

For Karan, who's won quite a few Filmfare awards and also played the emcee on the awards night, the magazine holds a special place.

“There's just one award that is kept on the mantelpiece of my house and that’s my first Filmfare,” Karan says.

With loads of pictures, trivia and stories, this new look Filmfare is certainly a collectors' edition.
