Mumbai: Filmmaking is big business, and each and every film is made keeping box office collections in mind.
On CNN-IBN’s Filmi Fiscal, Rohit Khilnani tells you the state of the three films that hit the silver screen last week.
From the first day and first weekend collections one can get a rough idea on the fate of a film. So, here goes the three movies that hit theaters last Friday.
Jimmy Shergill and Neha Dhupia starrer Delhii Heights was a film that was suppose to have the essence of Delhi but this film got such a poor response that even Delhiites didn’t seem to care.
Delhii Heights opened at only 10 to 15 per cent at the ticket window and the reason being is its limited target audience and poor direction. The film had nothing to pull the crowds with absolutely no pre-release buzz.

Film-o-Meter
Namesake won critical acclaim everywhere possible but on the film-o-meter it’s an average fare.
This is the same film that did exceptionally well at the US box office but producers by now should have known that Indian box office is a different ball game altogether.
However, for a film made for a niche audience, an average rank can be taken as good.
East meets West and that’s Namastey London – which is a hit! So, team Namastey London the verdict is out, hit the bar and party hard.
