Filmy Fiscal: Damp squib B'wood week

Mumbai: It’s that day of the week again when we take a look at the hits and misses at the box office. CNN-IBN’s Rohit Khilnani gets you the box office report and the right figures on which film is doing good business and which isn’t.

Sivaji being a hit is hardly a surprise but Jhoom Barabar Jhoom not doing well is news because Yashraj has not had a flop in a long time.

So, here’s the ticket window update for this week.

Last Friday was not that big a day for Bollywood, as the only release being Chain Kulii Ki Main Kuli, which is a film on the lines of Hattrick.

This Rahul Bose starrer had cricket as the backdrop but the film got a 20 per cent opening at the box office. So, it seems some films are not meant to be big.

Chain Kulii Ki Main Kuli
Opening : 20 per cent
Reason? No one cared!

Not all filmmakers like film critics but at least you should like them because they help you invest your hard earned money in the right films. So, here’s how the critics rated Chain Kulii Ki Main Kuli.

CRITICS VERDICT

Critic's Verdict: Chain Kulii Ki Main Kuli
Asian Age: 2 / 5
Sunday Mid-Day: 2 / 5
CNN-IBN: 2 /5

Sivaji is a super hit, which is as expected while Jhoom Barabar Jhoom is flop! Now that is quite unexpected coming from the Yashraj camp.
