Filmy Fiscal: Good, bad & ugly at BO

Rohit Khilnani, CNN-IBN

Mumbai: Last weekend Bollywood dished out the good, the bad and the ugly.

Two films released at the box office - Life in a…Metro and Good Boy Bad Boy. So, let’s check the facts and figures on who fared better.

Director Anurag Basu’s Life in a…Metro is a fast paced story of, well, life in a metro!

The film throws light on the advantages and disadvantages of the power-packed lives people lead in cities. And as expected this film is doing extremely well in metros and multiplexes.

The film opened between 60 to 70 % at the box office with the music and interesting promos pulling the crowds to cinema halls.

Success Matra: Good music and attractive promos

The second release of the week is Good Boy Bad Boy, which is a disaster at multiplexes and doing just about okay in small towns and single screens cinemas.

The film opened close to 30 per cent at the box office. And no prizes for guessing why it bombed – bad promos, bad idea, dated storyline and the list is endless. Basically, there is nothing good about Good Boy Bad Boy.

Blame it on: Bad idea to make this film!
