New Delhi: A police complaint has been filed against actor Emraan Hashmi and director Mahesh Bhatt by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker.
The complaint has accuses the duo of trying to divide people on religious lines.
"Why are Emraan Hashmi and Mahesh Bhatt creating a communal divide all of a sudden between two communities? Mahesh Bhatt was portraying himself as secular all these while but now he is giving statements in communal tone. This should be investigated," said BJP worker Sanjay Bodiya who filed the complaint in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, MD Suvarna, from whom Hashmi wanted to buy the flat, has also clarified that he had dropped the idea of selling his flat to the Bollywood actor.
Hashmi has accused Nibbana Cooperative Society at Mumbai's Pali Hill of not allowing him to buy an apartment there because he's a Muslim.
Hashmi has filed a complaint with the Maharashtra Minorities Commission. He has also said that this is not the first time he has had problems finding a house.
Maharashtra Minorities Commission Vice-Chairman Abraham Mathai said the Commission had sent a notice to the housing society.
