New Delhi: A fire broke out at the basement of an under-construction building of terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday evening. No casualties were reported.

One of the faulty UPS batteries, kept at the basement of the project site, caught fire due to short circuit at around 1640 hours IST and heavy smoke was noticed, sources said.

The fire then spread to about 20-25 batteries which were also kept in the basement of the terminal.

The blaze was immediately brought under control and no one was killed or injured in the incident, they added.
