Mumbai: Fire broke out in the new wing of Taj Hotel in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.

The 20th and 21st floor of the hotel caught fire at around 0430-0500 hrs IST. There were no guests in the hotel.

The fire started due to the short circuit in the pantry area of the Souk restaurant on the 21st floor.

The fire tenders were quick to respond and nine of them immediately rushed to the spot. The fire chief later confirmed that the fire was under control.

Police say that the fire was not caused because of the explosives.

There have been no reports of any casualties.
