The fire broke out at 00:30 hours IST last night at the CFP plant of Essar refinery. It was brought under control within a few hours. Essar refinery has been commissioned in Vadinar in Jamnagar.
''Pipe welding was being carried out at the pig launching station when sparks led to the fire,'' Vice-President Corporate Communications Prashant Pandya said.
The fire was brought under control by refinery personnel using fire extinguishers. The injured have been shifted to Jamnagar Civil Hospital.
The fire has not affected the functioning of the refinery and normal operations were on.
