Firemen battle fire in RBI building in Delhi

New Delhi A fire broke out on the first floor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) building in the heart of the capital Sunday evening, an official said.

Eight fire-fighting engines were pressed to control the fire that broke out around 6.25 p.m., the Delhi Fire Service official said.

There were no immediate reports of casualty or injury and there was no one in the building at the time the fire broke out. It was weekend holiday.

“The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained,” said the fire official.

The officials from the fire department and Delhi Police were at the spot and taking remedial measures.

The fire has been put out and no casualties have been reported.
