New Delhi: Legendary actor Kamal Haasan's upcoming film Viswaroopam, that has been produced and directed by the actor himself, will be showcased at the
13th Videocon IIFA Weekend in Singapore this June 2012. Viswaroopam is made in both Hindi and Tamil and is one of Haasan's biggest projects till date.
The Hindi version titled 'Vishwaroop' will be unveiled on June 8 at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore, giving the world media key glimpses from the film. Singapore will be hosting the IIFA Awards for the second time.
The film features Haasan in the lead role along with an impressive line up - Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah, Pooja Kumar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Samrat Chakrabarti, Zarina Wahab and a special appearance by Oscar-nominated director Shekhar Kapur.
Musical trios Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed the film’s musical score and noted lyricist Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics for the film. The multi-talented Haasan will address the media along with the cast of the film.
"IIFA is one of the biggest events for the Indian Film Industry. This year is particularly special for my film and me; it is a great opportunity to present my film on such a large and international scale. I look forward to unveiling the first look of 'Vishwaroopam' and I am hopeful that it will be well received," Haasan said.
The 13th edition of the IIFAs - the Videocon IIFA Weekend 2012 has been designed keeping in mind the South Indian diaspora in Singapore. The three spectacular days of high octane entertainment will witness South Indian film celebrities such as music prodigy AR Rahman, renowned actress Radikaa SharathKumar, Shriya Saran, Telugu film producer K S Rama Rao, Suresh Babu, Allu Arvind and many more.
Interestingly, for the first time ever the performances at the IIFA Weekend and Awards, actor and director Prabhu Deva would choreograph the IIFA Rocks and Awards. He is choreographing an Awards Ceremony for the first time in his illustrious career.
The Videocon IIFA Weekend will be hosted in the Lion City of Singapore from the June 7 to June 9.
