Five people killed in a car accident in Delhi

New Delhi: Five people, including two children, died in an early morning car accident in Kanhaiyanagar near Ashok Vihar in north-west Delhi.

Rakesh Garg and his wife, Uma, were returning in their Maruti 800 from a wedding party. Their sons, 21-year-old Mukul and 11-year-old Rishab, and their 14-year-old niece, Thanvi, were also in the car- Maruti 800.

Initial reports say that a speeding Scorpio smashed into the car. The car was taking a right when a speeding Scorpio came and hit the car.

Mukul, Rishab and Thanvi died on the spot. Rakesh and his wife were rushed to a hospital but were declared brought dead.

“The Maruti 800 was coming from one side and there was another car(Scorpio) speeding up and coming from another end. The Scorpio hit their car and it hit with too much force, to an extent that people in the car fell out,” says an eyewitness.

The police have impounded the killer vehicle and have launched a hunt for its occupants who fled away the scene. A case is yet to be registered.
