All flights to and from Delhi Airport have been suspended indefinitely as the runway visibility has fallen below 50 metres. Several flights have been cancelled indefinitely.
The flight schedule of Air Sahara flights from Delhi to major cities has been hit.
And so is the schedule of Air China Beijing-Delhi flight.
Two flights from Dubai have also been delayed while the IA 896 Dubai-Delhi is delayed indefinitely.
IA 746 Dubia-Delhi, which was supposed to touch ground at 0415 hrs IST, is arriving at 0430 hrs IST.
But the meteorological department says the fog may clear later in the day.
The situation is bad not just in Delhi but London's Heathrow Airport remains shrouded in dense fog for the fourth day in a row.
Hundreds of flights have been cancelled and thousands of holiday travelers remain stranded.
The snarl at Heathrow has created a huge backlog of flights around Europe.
Passengers at Charles De Gaulle Airport in France face long lines to re-book or re-route their flights.
French authorities have now made arrangements for stranded passengers to travel on Eurostar trains.
What to do if the flight is delayed due to fog:
- Call your airline and cross-check
- Leave your number behind
- Check for weather updates
- Bring food and drink
- And last but not the least. Be patient
