Patna Bihar continues to reel under floods. It is one of the worst disasters in recent times. All the major rivers are flowing well above the danger mark.

The breach in Kosi river is widening by almost 200 metres everyday. 6 districts are under water and many people have drowned.

Not all those who survived are happy. Many have lost all or some of their family members.

Life looms large before them with all belongings gone and no one to share the journey.

Ruby is one of those thousands affected by the deluge. Her baby has been sick for four days with no access to medical facilities.

Several parts of the state have been cut-off and relief is out of reach. She has no clue where her family members are.

“My child is so ill, I cannot do a thing about it. I wonder what I did wrong that my child must suffer,” said Ruby.

In Birpur district, Mohd.Rauffudin soldiers on even though he has lost touch with his nine brothers, his parents, wife and children.

He was separated from the family while trying to stay afloat. The dam burst and the rising floodwaters separate.

Waiting to be rescued, all he can do is pray that his family is safe.

“I wish the help had reached on time. That way at least my children could have been safe,” he lamented.

As water levels in this region are dangerously rising, people's hopes of getting relief measures on time are sinking. These are not normal floods, maintain the state officials.
