Flu scare: Couples put off honeymoon plans

New Delhi: Around the world the fight against swine flu is on at a war footing. The flu is also putting a damper on romance as well with couples having to rethink honeymoon plans.

A couple in Seattle are among many who have had to change their honeymoon destinations after the outbreak of swine flu.

They had earlier planned on heading off to Mexico after their wedding. In light of the current health alerts all over, it's looking more and more likely that any trip, especially to Mexico, will not happen.

Police in Arizona are fighting not just crime but also the dreaded disease too.

The Sheriff at the Maricopa County in Arizona has started issuing face masks and gloves to his deputies.

They have been instructed to use the protection if and when they encounter illegal migrants from Mexico. Officers at the county's detention center will also be screening incoming inmates for flu symptoms.
