London: As the ball got rolling on a rare sunny day in London, the crowd got to watch an even rarer bunch of players.
It is the Hackney - a women's football team, which is the first all-lesbian football team in London and possibly the whole of UK.
With the Football World Cup coming ever so close, what better than to watch women have a go at the ball.
"Football was going through a transitional stage where an environment was needed where lesbians could play where they wouldn’t get abused. We will provide the space for them to play and take their football forward," said mentor, Hackney women's football team Alfie Ferguson.
As this fiery bunch of ladies kicked around the field, tackled other players and finally lifted their cup, one couldn’t help but ask about their plans for the World Cup.
"We'll get together and go to the pub where patients can watch, there definitely will be a TV," said Naina Patel, player, Hackney women's football team.
"Man, I've got flags in my car and I've got annual leave and I'm watching every single game," said a player of the Hackney team, Sarah 'savage' Meeks.
World Cup football or not, these ladies sure have their plans well laid out.
