For July brides, it's all in the number 7

Philadelphia: July 7, 2007 or 7/7/07 has a once in a lifetime feel to it. For bride-to-be Melissa Branyan, it will be her date with destiny.

When she and her fiance Chris got engaged two years ago, her mother suggested getting married that day for a little extra luck.

“She also said that you will never forget your anniversary that way too,” said Melissa.

Melissa started planning the wedding right away and quickly realized she wasn't alone.

“Pretty much every time I initialize the date they're like oh you're one of the 7/7 brides. We get a lot of requests about that date,” said Melissa.

With so many couples hoping to tie the knot on that day, vendors in our area have been booked for months in some cases years in advance.

“Oftentimes you get a call for a date and they're willing to look around but definitely had to be 7/7/07 for this one,” said Member of the Barristers' Club Christine Brown.

Wedding venues, caterers, and limo services are still turning down requests from love-birds who love the odds of that date.

“We've taken our last booking for this in June of last year,” said Laurin Fegley.

“I have eight stretches and they're all we are completely sold out for the day,” said Tony Onorata.

Having an even nicer ring to it, the triple-7 date falls on a Saturday.

“Probably out of all the weddings in the last 23 years we have done this has been the busiest day,” said Liz Richmond:

As for Melissa, she sent out her invitations highlighting 7/7-07 but says she's not taking the theme too far.

Other couples who are not so lucky to secure the date, there's always 8-8-08.
