New Delhi: Railway Minister Lalu Prasad is a man of many words, too many words some would say.
So when he was invited to lecture a group of foreign service trainees on the great railway turnaround, the Laluisms that came with it were expected.
However, what did come as a surprise was an impromptu recipe of Bihar's “national” dish – the chokha.
“Take potatoes, tomatoes, garlic and some spices. Mix them and enjoy the chokha,” he said.
It did leave the foreign guests a little perplexed but then he followed it up with another jewel about railway wash rooms.
“We are doing research on how to keep tracks clean in the morning, to get clean oxygen at railway tracks,” he said even sending the audience in splits.
While he may have forgotten the hygiene lesson while spitting on the railway tracks some time ago, at least he managed to enliven what could have otherwise been a dull long-winded government function.
